Adelaide Hyperbaric
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Adelaide Hyperbaric Pty Ltd ACN 695 735 203 ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal information, including sensitive health information, when you use this website and our services. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and identity details — your name, email address, mobile number, suburb or address, preferred contact method, and role or interest category.
- Health information — the answers you provide in our health questionnaire and screening process, which may include your date of birth, sex at birth, medical history, current conditions, medications, prior surgeries, emergency contact and general practitioner details. This is sensitive information under the Privacy Act and is collected with your consent so we can assess suitability for hyperbaric oxygen therapy and provide it safely.
- Consent and clinical records — records of the consents you give and of your consultations, suitability assessments, appointments and sessions.
- Payment information — when you pay online, your card payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we retain transaction records such as amount, date and receipt reference.
- Communications — messages you send us and your communication and marketing preferences.
- Technical information — limited information needed to operate and protect the website, including your IP address and device/browser information, and aggregate, cookie-free usage statistics (we do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers).
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- assess your suitability for hyperbaric oxygen therapy and flag anything requiring review or medical clearance;
- arrange and conduct consultations, appointments and sessions;
- process payments and maintain billing and accounting records;
- respond to enquiries and provide opening updates and, where you have consented, other updates;
- maintain clinical and business records and meet our legal, insurance and record-keeping obligations;
- operate, secure and improve the website and our services.
Email and SMS communications
Where you consent, we may contact you by email or SMS about your enquiry, appointments, our opening and future availability. You can opt out of non-essential updates at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We may still send you communications necessary for a service you have requested (for example, appointment confirmations).
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services and operate our business, including with service providers who act on our behalf:
- Twilio Inc. (including SendGrid) — email and SMS delivery;
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Fly.io — secure application hosting and infrastructure;
- our professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers); and
- others where you consent, or where we are required or authorised by law.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia (including in the United States). Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled with appropriate protections.
Storage and security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls and encryption of certain data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep it
We keep personal and health information for as long as needed for the purposes described above and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations (health records are subject to minimum retention periods). When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask us to access or correct your personal information, or to remove you from our contact lists, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements. To make a request or a privacy complaint, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this website.
